Question 1: Does the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF) offer scholarships?

Answer:

Currently, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF) offers several scholarship programs for students, including: Talent Scholarships, Youth Union Scholarship, Scholarships sponsored by businesses, Educational Scholarships, and especially the Annual Entrance Scholarship Package.

In 2023, the University developed an Entrance Scholarship policy for candidates who apply and are admitted to the university through various admission methods, with scholarships of 100%, 50%, and 25%. Note that the University does not consider additional points for priority areas or subjects, or double points for English.

To maintain a 100% scholarship, students must achieve a GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale. For a 50% scholarship, students must have a GPA of 3.4/4, and for a 25% scholarship, students must have a GPA between 3.5 and 3.3/4. Additionally, students must have a minimum yearly evaluation score of 65%.

Particularly, students majoring in Japanese, Korean, or Chinese Language programs will receive a 40% scholarship for the entire course from sponsoring businesses. For the following programs: Information Technology, E-commerce, Communications Technology, Public Relations, International Relations, Data Science, Psychology, Graphic Design, Hotel Management, Tourism and Travel Services Management, Restaurant and Food Services Management, Multimedia Communications, and Project Management, students will receive a 30% scholarship for the entire course from sponsoring businesses. (This applies to new students who graduated from high school in 2023 and cannot be combined with other scholarships.)

Question 2: I really want to study at UEF, but my English isn’t very good. Does the university offer any support to help me improve my English?

The Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF) is known for its strong programs in business, management, finance, and banking, including Business Administration, International Business, Accounting, Finance & Banking, Marketing, and promising fields like Economic Law, English Language, Information Technology, Public Relations, E-commerce, Hospitality Management, Human Resources, and Tourism and Travel Services Management.

As a bilingual training environment following international standards, English is a crucial language in teaching and learning at UEF. Therefore, a good level of English is necessary to study at UEF. However, you don’t need to worry too much if your English skills aren’t strong. Upon admission to UEF, before officially starting your studies, the university offers a free English foundation program to help strengthen your language skills. This program lasts 4-6 weeks and will prepare you for studying in English at UEF. Throughout the course, instructors will provide personalized advice to help you improve your English effectively.

Question 3: If I am accepted into UEF, where will I study, and how many campuses does the university have?

Currently, UEF has its main campus located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, in Binh Thanh District, at the following addresses: 141-145 Dien Bien Phu Street, Ward 2, Binh Thanh District; and 276 Dien Bien Phu Street, Ward 17, Binh Thanh District. These modern learning and living facilities are designed for your comfort, including air-conditioned classrooms, Wi-Fi, a gym, a library, an entertainment area, and a study studio, meeting all student learning and training needs.
Additionally, UEF is working on a project to establish a new campus in the southern area of Saigon, which, once completed, will be one of the most modern educational centers.

Question 4: Could you tell me the tuition fee for UEF for one academic year?

Hello!
At UEF, you will enjoy an environment that matches the tuition fee you pay. You will study in a world-class educational environment with English as the main language of instruction, and the university also guarantees to assist with internships and job placement after graduation.
Tuition fees at UEF are collected at the beginning of each semester based on the number of credits you register for. The average tuition fee is about 18-20 million VND per semester (one year has 4 semesters). The fees include 7 levels of English training, equivalent to an IELTS 5.5. Students with an IELTS score of 5.0 are exempt from 3 levels of English, and those with an IELTS score of 5.5 or higher are exempt from 4 levels of English.

Question 6: Could you tell me about the English program at UEF, and what English proficiency is required for graduation?

Answer:
At UEF, English is considered a crucial language in teaching and learning to ensure students have the best opportunities for both local and international job markets.
Before officially starting at UEF, the university conducts an English proficiency test. If you meet the entry requirements, you will join the main English program, which consists of 7 levels (AV1 to AV7). If you don’t meet the entry requirements, UEF will offer a 4-6 week preparatory English course free of charge. This program will help you review high school English and familiarize yourself with UEF’s English teaching methods.
In the first three semesters, students will focus on improving their English. After completing the English program, students should achieve an English proficiency level equivalent to IELTS 5.5, enabling them to study specialized courses in English.
Upon graduation, students must achieve an IELTS score of 5.5 or higher (or its equivalent) within 2 years before graduation.

Question 7: What are the admission requirements for UEF?

 In 2023, UEF is admitting students through 4 methods:

1. Admission based on the results of the 2023 National High School Graduation Exam (after the exam results are announced, UEF will publish the required score).
2. Admission based on the results of the National University of Ho Chi Minh City’s 2023 competency assessment exam.
3. Admission based on high school transcripts in three subjects.
4. Admission based on the average grade of 3 high school semesters.

Question 8: I graduated from high school last year. Can I apply using my high school transcript?

Answer:
Hello! In 2023, UEF is admitting students through 4 methods: based on the National High School Graduation Exam, high school transcripts in three subjects, high school transcripts based on the average grade of 3 semesters, and results from the National University of Ho Chi Minh City’s competency assessment exam.

If you graduated from high school last year, you can definitely apply using your high school transcript for admission in 2023. To apply, you need to meet the following conditions:

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• A total average score of 18 points or higher from the three subjects in your chosen subject combination. Alternatively, your average score from 3 semesters (first semester of grade 11, second semester of grade 11, and first semester of grade 12) should be 18 points or higher.

Question 9: What documents do I need to prepare for applying using my high school transcript, and what is the application timeline?

In 2023, UEF is admitting students through four methods: based on the National High School Graduation Exam, high school transcripts in three subjects, high school transcripts based on the average grade of 3 semesters, and results from the National University of Ho Chi Minh City’s competency assessment exam.
For applying with your high school transcript (Grade 12), you need the following:

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• An average score of 18 points or higher from the three subjects in your chosen subject combination.
  For applying based on the average score of 3 semesters, the condition is:
• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• An average score of 18 points or higher from your 3 semester grades.
  Documents required:
• Application form as per UEF’s template (download on uef.edu.vn).
• Notarized copy of your high school transcript.
• Notarized copy of your high school diploma or certificate (you can submit it later if you only have a temporary graduation certificate).
• Priority certificate (if applicable).
