2024 K-Chum Festival finals: blast with Vietnamese - Korean cultural and artistic interference

The Finale of K-Chum Festival 2024 was also joined by Mr. Kil Ho Jin - Director of HCMC Korean Language Center, Mr. Joe Gyu Hyoen - Director of Legal Entities in Vietnam, Teammint Company. Dr. Lee Cho Won - Professor of School of Fashion and Beauty Style of Chungkang University of Culture.

Joined on the side of UEF were Mr. Do Quoc Anh - Vice Chairman of Board of Directors of UEF, Dr, Nhan Cam Tri - Vice President of UEF, Dr. Ngo Minh Hai - Vice President of UEF, Dr. Vo Van Thanh Than - Deputy Dean of Faculty of Languages and International Cultures, President of Vietnam - Japan Human Resources Development Center, Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan - Dean of Faculty of Chinese Language, Deputy Dean of Faculty of Languages and International Cultures, Dr. Bui Thi My Linh - Dean of Faculty of Korean Language, Mr. Bui Quang Dong - Director of Department of Student Services together with the Board of Directors, Lectures and UEFers. 

The finale witnessed the competition of top 10 teams selected from more than 100 young talents from the Southern Universities and Colleges. In selection for this year’s champion of K-Chum Festival were: Choreographer Jung Sol - Lecturer of Sol Dance Studio Academy, Dr. Kim Myung Hee - Director of School of Fashion & Beauty Style of Chungkang University of Culture, Choreographer Sun D, Choreographer P.O and choreographer Tai Phan.

The top 10 teams then stepped into the competition. Each team brought a unique color and personality, in which there were stories, meaningful stories integrated in every single performance, greatly showcased the Korean and Vietnamese cultural aesthetics. But, things didn’t just stop there, when the teams carefully showcased the smooth interference between Kpop and Vpop, together creating strong effects for the team’s performance. The students got to select the elements from traditional to modern, from folk stories to the ancient spiritual cultural aspects of both nations.

 

All the teams combined the Vietnamese and Korean cultural materials from traditional to modern 

Through excruciating practices, all 10 teams together brought the extraordinary performances to the judges and the audiences, showcasing the investment in costumes, tools, choreography skills, confidence and professional performing style. All the judges highly appreciated the team work spirit as well as the stories and messages each team brought to this special night. 

 

The performances had great investment from ideas to stage design 

The enthusiastic cheering of both UEFers and other universities together heated up the Final night. They were also the inspiration for the team's devotion and blasting energy in performances, which brought them to the stage of sublimation and shine. The guest appearance and meeting of singer Minh Kha - Runner-up of The Next Gentleman has stirred up the atmosphere, creating more significant moments for this journey.

- First place: Best Fancy Project.
- Second Place: Black Widow Dance Team.
- Third place: LÉmuria Dance Team.
- Encouragement Award: T2M “Time to Maximus”, The KOD Crew and 4G.
- Best Costume Award: Black Widow Dance Team. 

 

UEF sends congratulate to the effort of this year’s teams

Closing an impressive Season, besides the performances in proof of the talent, effort and passion for the Korean - Vietnamese culture, K-Chum 2024 also open meeting, exchange and connect opportunities for the UEFers. All created the massive success for the Third K-Chum Festival in 2024.
