FEBRUARY 18, UEF Center of Corporate Partnerships officially inaugurated the “Japanese for the community - Mirai Journey” project, a salutary activity in order to acquire UEFers alongside community partners with further linguistic knowledge, enhance communication, learn Japanese culture and people. The first class was officially open, marking a promising stepping stone for the journey of discovering and mastering a new language.
The class serves as a “Community bridge” that nurture communication and professional knowledge of the land of sakura
The Inauguration was joined by Ms. Tran Thi My Phuong - Head of Center of Service-Learning, Mr. Cao Do Quyen - Assistant of the Japanese Language Department as well as numerous students from various fields and ages such as actress Nguyet Anh, actor Le Be La, students and alumni of UEF and HUTECH. The class especially welcomes the children, middle aged learners together with TA students from different universities around HCMC.
During the opening minutes, students got an overview of class rules, curriculum and essential output requirements. Additionally, the organizers also provided information on outstanding certifications such as Course Valedictorian, Conversation Leader, Kenji Master,... fuel the motivation to strive and develop throughout the learning journey.
Subsequently, Mr. Cao Do Quyen began the lecture with the origin and development of the Japanese writings, from alphabets such as Hiragana, Katakana, Kanji to Romaji. With the dynamic teaching methods, he gave in detail illustrations on each alphabet, accompanied with practical examples that are easy to memorize and picture. He also emphasized on how to distinguish and use each alphabet correctly, and brought a comprehensive and in-depth perspective on the distinct Japanese writings.
During the first lesson, the learners of “Japanese for the community” were introduced to the five basic phonetics of A-I-U-E-O and practiced Hiragana writing. The lecturers and teaching assistants enthusiastically guided, observed and adjusted each writing movement, helping learning Japanese beginners master the way of writing from the very first step.
Before the class ended, the learners were instructed on how to introduce themselves with basic communication lines. The atmosphere became more robust and lively when everyone practiced together.
The project surely brought special meanings, devoted to creating a bonding community for bonding and developing at UEF. The inauguration of “Japanese for the community - Mirai Journey” was ended, but in the meantime marked the beginning of a potential new journey.
