Bao Ngoc inspires sustainability mindset and community responsibility for UEFers at Unitour

The increasingly frequent unseasonal rains, the prolonged heat waves, rivers once crystal clear now murky with waste,... All of this is ringing alarm bells about the hardness of nature in response to human impacts. Amid the context, sustainable development is no longer a distant concept but has become an urgent requirement, demanding the collective effort of the entire community, especially the younger generation.

FEBRUARY 21, That is also the message that Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc - Miss Intercontinental 2022, creator of GEN ZERO - The youth for sustainable development, shared at the Unitour: Empowering Sustainability - Mindset for entrepreneurship event held at UEF.

During the event, Dr. Nhan Cam Tri - Vice President of UEF emphasized the role of students in forming the future. “ I believe with a sustainability mindset, you guys will not only become successful entrepreneurs but also responsible leaders for the society and environment. The sharing of the speakers are the seeds sown into the minds of the young generation. The program brought practical perspectives, inspiring creative ideas that helps UEFers better understand the role of sustainability mindset in startup and economic development” - Shared by Dr. Nhan Cam Tri.

At the program, Bao Ngoc stressed that sustainable development is a path that ensures the survival of humanity. The speaker gave examples of saltwater intrusion in the Mekong Delta, rivers pollution and the suffocating atmosphere due to fine dust in Ho Chi Minh city, and the environmental issues that are directly affecting everyone’s lives. Without immediate actions, these aftermaths will become worse.
From the alarming reality, Bao Ngoc calls on the youth to actively change from the simplest things in daily life. Reducing the use of single-use plastics, recycling waste, consuming responsibly or simply spreading the awareness about sustainable development can create differences. She also encourages young people to participate in green startup projects, collaborate with businesses committed to environmental protection, and together build a more sustainable future.

Additionally, the event also offered practical stories from orienting businesses in sustainable development. Mr. Le Ngoc Huy - Sales Director of Stride, introduced financial solutions that promote solar energy, giving families and businesses easier access to a green source of energy. Meanwhile, Mr. Stefan Kaufmann - CEO of EBOOST, presented the system of smart electric cars charging stations, an important step in reducing emissions and promoting eco transportation.

Besides sharings and in-depth discussions, Unitiur also had an exhibition of paintings on sustainability mindset. The presented art works showed not only creative perspectives on environment protection but also inspired students in the journey towards creating a greener world.

The program provided students with practical access to sustainable models, creating a platform for innovative mindset and environmental responsibility. The inspirational stories from the speakers and businesses help young people understand that each individual can contribute to significant change, starting from the smallest actions. Moreover, the paintings exhibition on sustainability mindset also provokes inspirations, creating a space for students to deliver their perspectives on responsibility towards the community and environment. This is a platform for the young ones to not only raise their awareness but also transform them into practical activities, building a sustainable future.

Many issues are discussed from the perspectives of different parties. In which, UEF students also expressed their opinions and concerns through practical shares and questions.

With this spirit, the event created a meaningful seminar for students to thoroughly understand the environmental problem and find the motivation to together create a greener and more sustainable Vietnam. Like Miss Intercontinental Bao Ngoc shared: “The youth today will be left behind if they do not take actions”. Sustainable development transcends simply responsibility but also the opportunity for the younger generation to create a better world - where people can live in harmony with nature instead of destroying it.
