Digital skills training orientation to better integrate in technological labor force for UEFers

DECEMBER 18, UEF Center of Corporate Partnerships in collaboration with the Faculty of Information Technology hosted the workshop “The role of digital skills and digital mindset in the context of impact by AI” for UEFers of Class 21 of the Faculty of Information Technology and Data Science. The workshop is part of a series of activities for Orientation Internship 2025, in order to equip the essential materials for UEFers upon the graduation internship program.

Enhance digital competence for UEFers enroll in internship in the field of technology

The workshop was hosted by Dr. Ngo Huu Thong - Director of Intellectual Property Development Center and DIGISO Brand, followed by the participation of Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Loan - Deputy Director of Center of Corporate Partnerships, Ms. Hoang Thi Hang - Assistant dean of the Faculty of Information Technology together with the lecturers from the faculty.

“In the current scene of digitization, every citizen should be equipped with certain digital knowledge and skills. Especially for the youth who pursue in the technology field must enhance these competencies, partly to match the general development trend along with insurance of a stable foothold on the labor market” - shared by Dr. Ngo Huu Thong during an overview of the importance of digitization with the four common digital tools (AI, Internet of Things, Big Data and Cloud). 

According to the speaker, the seven elements of digital skills include: Information and Data mining; Communication and Collaboration in a digital environment; DigitalSafety and Well-being; Digital Content creating; Learning And Developing Digital Skills; Use Digital skills for your career. Each element requires constant training and inquiring for proficiency. Having mastered the elements, the digital skills will be the best assistants for UEFers during work and development in the digital era, as emphasized by Dr. Ngo Huu Thong.

In addition to the mentioned digital competency group, the speaker also gave an insight on some of the most important soft skills that each student needs to nurture and possess, including the top 3 skills being: critical thinking, adaptation and flexibility, emotional intelligence.

Beyond understanding the crucial role of digital competence in the current context, UEFers of the Faculty of Information Technology and Data Science were also provided with information about the upcoming April 2025 internship program shared by Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Loan. Having been informed about the important dates, UEFers will be better prepared for the upcoming journey.
