DECEMBER 19, the UEF Center of Corporate Partnerships in cooperation with the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management successfully organized the workshop themed “Conquering employers - tips form the peers”. The activity provided FTHMers many essential skill lessons, ready to embark on the upcoming journey of internship at businesses.

Representing the business joining the workshop and sharing with FTHMers was Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh - Deputy Director of Human Resources and Administration Department at Saigontourist Travel Service Company Limited, with years of experience in employing, evaluating and selecting candidates for the businesses. Additionally, the workshop was also participated by Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Loan - Deputy Director of UEF Center of Corporate Partnerships, Ms. nguyen Thi Kim Thoai - Deputy Dean of Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management and Mr. Nguyen Viet Thuy - Deputy Dean of Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management.

As a crucial lesson for every UEFer, internship not only directly affects the study results but also helps them connect theories with practical examples, and expand their business network. According to the speaker, being an industry that requires a high level of practicality, internship becomes even more necessary for UEFers majoring in Tourism and Hospitality. From the factors provided, FTHMers will have the most comprehending preparation for the upcoming internship.
As the internship is approaching, FTHMers must have a clear direction of positions suitable for their majors. Additionally, it is essential for them to understand the requirements regarding the nature of the job, the unit chosen for internship, timetable,... together with the indispensable specialized knowledge and soft skills that aligns with professional manners - factors that associate with the service industry, emphasized by Ms. Hoang Anh. In the meantime, the speaker also gave FTHMers some notices on things to avoid during the internship.
On the employer’s perspective, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh also highlighted a few requirements for the selection and evaluation of candidates. Businesses will be impressed with job applications that are clear, concise, shows their personal highlights and fits the applied positions. In addition, an application letter must show sincerity, progressive spirit and be attached with some legal documents, personal projects or certificates, degrees (if any). Important things while and after participating in interviews to help UEFers leave a good impression with businesses were also highlighted by Ms. Hoang Anh.
