Over 20 UEFers embark on the International Summer Camp in China

UEFers were ready to experience the country and culture of China

Presenting at the send-off were Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan – Deputy Dean, Faculty of Languages and International Cultures, along with lecturers, staff from the Faculty and International Institute, as well as the students’ families and friends. 

The students participating in this international summer camp came from various majors. Driven by their passion for the Chinese language and culture, and their desire to explore the unique aspects of the country, UEFers eagerly registered for the program. This camp also provides an opportunity to interact and connect with international peers, as this year's event features students from five different countries.

UEF hosted a meeting with the 21 students prior to their departure to provide a detailed schedule for the trip. At the airport, Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan thoughtfully reminded the students of important details for their journey. She also shared clear information with the parents about the trip and the summer camp arrangements, helping to reassure families about their children's participation in this educational and experiential journey.

The international summer camp is not limited to students majoring in Chinese Language; it also welcomes students from other majors who have an interest in China. "My child has been fascinated by China and has been learning Chinese on her own since she was a kid. This trip is an opportunity for her to experience the culture, language, and customs, as well as explore the country she has always admired. It will help her prepare new plans for the future," shared the parent of Nguyen Kim Hong, a Business Administration student.

When asked about their feelings regarding the trip, the students unanimously expressed excitement and anticipation: "I am really excited and looking forward to this summer camp. It’s an incredible opportunity to learn new things in a foreign country and make international friends. I plan to be open-minded, eager to learn, sociable, creative, and full of energy throughout this experience abroad," shared Nguyen Gia Hung, a Marketing student.

With a strong background in Chinese, Duong Kim Ngan is filled with excitement and enthusiasm for this trip. She is eager to explore Chinese culture, history, and the highlights of one of the world’s longest-lasting civilizations. "I am also excited to explore diverse learning and research methods from both students and lecturers in the host country. This opportunity provides an excellent chance to improve my communication and teamwork skills in a multicultural environment, allowing me to gain invaluable experiences for the future," Kim Ngan expressed.

Similar to Gia Hung and Kim Ngan, Nghiem Phuong Linh, a student majoring in Marketing, also believes that Guangxi University offers her the opportunity to study in a multicultural international environment where she can meet and interact with students from various ASEAN countries. Additionally, Phuong Linh looks forward to gaining deeper insights into the local culture.

Inspired by Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan’s words of encouragement, UEF hopes that students will have meaningful, engaging, and enriching experiences. The university wishes for students to remain full of enthusiasm and energy, consistently demonstrating their talents and youthful spirit. Additionally, it is essential that students strictly follow the camp’s regulations and maintain discipline. Most importantly, they are encouraged to foster positive relationships and create lasting memories with friends from various countries, thereby enhancing the image of UEFers and showcasing the unique "colors" of Vietnamese students.
