UEEFers reveal their special plans for Christmas Celebration

12/20/2024

When the beloved Christmas melodies resound on every street corner, the atmosphere of Sai Gon suddenly becomes warmer amid the chilling weather at the end of the year. Here at UEF, for every UEFer, Christmas is more than just a moment to integrate into the festive, vibrant colors but also a precious moment to contemplate, share and grow. The glimmering check-in spots in the campus, the warming hugs from the best friends or simply just an honest wish… all together create a cheerful emotional picture of Christmas.

Many teeneagers view this as an opportunity to pace themselves, take care of themselves, their family and community. That’s when every individual look back on their past journey, appreciates what they are having and have better faith of their future ahead.

A season to “slow down”and share

Every Christmas, many UEFers chose to pause on their daily concern to start on deeper compensation, reconnect with themselves and the surrounding world. They drifted back to each of their meaningful milestones on their past journey and enjoy the warmth beside their loved ones. In every UEFer’s story, Christmas pop up with various shades, from gathering meals to small acts but meaningful towards communities.

For Le Hoang Bao Han - Class of 2021 of International Relations, this year’s Christmas brings special feelings when this marks the final year of her college journey. Bao Han shared her plans for Christmas:”I will try my best to fulfill my plans as well as the end-of-semester projects to ensure my graduation progress. In addition, this is a suitable time to look at the past year. I will conduct more charitable activities to mark an end to a meaningful year. Especially, my mom’s birthday is in December, so aside from participating in charity works, I will spend much time with my family to store many memorable memories”.

Bao Han has many plans for a joyful Christmas

Le Hoang Tuoi Sang - Class of 2022 of Digital Marketing sees Christmas as an event of restoring positive energy. “After a studying and working year filled with pressure, Christmas is my period to let loose my feelings, immerse in the joy and peacefulness with my family and friends. This is also my time to look back on the past, appreciate the experiences and heading towards a new year with better things to come” - Tuoi Sang confesses.
About intentions for this year’s Christmas, he excitedly shared:” I want to spend this meaningful period of time with my beloved ones. I have planned a cheerful night, enjoying a breathtaking movie together with my family or friends. I already feel excited just by picturing the whole group sitting together, freely laughing and joking, watching the movie and feeling the festive atmosphere. These humble moments may not be so special but will surely leave remarkable memories for me”.

Amid the chaos of study and plans for the future, Christmas is an essential period of zen for the teens to have a flashback of their past journey. All the hardworking days at the lecture hall, with the extracurricular activities or even the meaningful charity field trip are all the pure, vibrant colors of each UEFer. Bao Han, Tuoi Sang and many other UEFers may have learned that the most meaningful thing isn’t the finish line but the journey of growth through various small but meaningful experiences.

Spreading love from the simplest things

For Tran Thi Thu Hien - Class of 2022 of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Christmas is the moment to decorate her living space and share with the unfortunate ones. “I will enroll in giving Christmas presents to children and the homeless. I believe sharing the love and bringing happiness for the less fortunates ones will make Christmas more meaningful. On the other hand, I will make DIY Christmas envelopes and write the best wishes to my friends and family. I think these handmade presents will truly show the love and care that I have for them” - Thu Hien shared.

Thu Hien views sharing love with the less fortunate as a joy in this festive season

Sometimes we easily get drowned in the flow of work and study but forget the simple values surrounding us. Christmas becomes a little reminder of interconnection, when a small gift, an honest wish or an action from the heart can also bring enormous joy for the others. Same as Thu Hien, many other UEFers also recognized that sometimes love isn’t about luxuries but within an honest heart.

Vu Yen Nhi - Class of 2022 of English Language also confesses: “This Christmas, I intend to spend some time with my family. I can have a nightwalk with my friends, be dazzled by the lights and take pictures at the streets full of glamour decorations. In addition, I planned to take part in a small charity activity, donate clothes and toys for the less fortunate children. I believe these filled with love presents and honesty will be my beautiful Christmas memory”

Aside from her friends and family, Vu Yen Nhi spread her arms to support less fortunate children

It’s from the seemingly simple things that every UEFer gets to spread the powerful message of sharing, caring and interconnecting.

The mark of growth and futuristic desire

For a Senior like Nguyen Hoang Bao Chau - Class of 2021 of International Relations:” Just like every other Christmas, I will go back home to gather with my friends and family. But above all, I ought to pass the mid-term exam of my final courses in college student life. Being a final-year student, I am always aware of the frequent implementation of the taught knowledge in my daily life. So, me and my “colleagues” all hope to achieve the best results with thoughtful preparation to be ready and “fight”regardless of situations”

“At every Christmas, I automatically have to complete the goal I set for the year. That’s how I relieve a meaningful year of mine and prepare for the future” - She further confess.

This UEFer would like to enjoy a filling Christmas, marks the four-year college journey

Excited with the robust festival atmosphere, Huynh Bao Khang - Class of 2021 of International Business shared:” Firstly, I will complete all the study goals I set at the begin of the year. After that, I plan to engage in many activities with my friends, maybe a walk around the Christmas market, have a cup of hot chocolate or take pictures with Christmas trees glimmering with lights. Especially, I have a plan to take part in a charitable program, sharing presents with the children who are less fortunate, for I believe the joy is better when you share it. Additionally, I am going to write letters for each of my beloved, along with the most sincere wish that I am usually too shy to confess. Also, I would like to make some cute handmade gifts like key chains, scented candles or cookies. This is how I send the care and the best wishes to my beloved ones”.

“Wish you all a Merry and warm Christmas with your family and friends. Hope that this festive season will bring joy, peacefulness and memorable moments to all of us” - Huynh Bao Khang

For UEFers, Christmas is an event to set new goals. Some direct towards international experiences, some prepare for their upcoming internship while some others have plans for meaningful communal activities. Each little step brings the hope and desire for a better future.

Regardless of sharing the love moments, the humble memories within families or future intentions, UEF believe this year’s Christmas will be an essential part in the growing journey of every UEFErs.
