Attending the meeting on behalf of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics were Professor Wang Xiao Hua, Director of the International Institute, and Professor Li Zhi Yong, Vic. Representing UEF were Dr. Nhan Cam Tri, Vice President, Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc, Vice President, and Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan, Deputy Head of the Faculty of International Languages and Cultures.
During the exchange, representatives from both sides discussed a variety of collaborative programs, including student exchange initiatives, international semesters (either for a year or a semester), short-term programs (2-4 weeks), and internship opportunities at businesses for students. Notably, Chinese students will have the opportunity to come to UEF for a two-week short-term program, where they can take courses related to language, culture, and economics while also visiting popular sites in Ho Chi Minh City.
UEF students, in turn, will be encouraged to participate in a similar program at Guizhou University of Finance and Economics. This experience will provide them with access to a high-quality curriculum and the chance to explore the culture, people, and landscapes of China. Such programs offer students diverse learning experiences and cultural exchanges, helping them to broaden their knowledge, skills, and international understanding.
At the conclusion of the discussion, both parties agreed on details concerning tuition fees, cooperation contracts, student exchange programs, as well as accommodations and living arrangements for students participating in exchange programs. Representatives from both universities committed to implementing these programs in the near future, with the aim of creating numerous learning and practical experience opportunities for students and fostering a sustainable partnership between the two institutions. Beyond academics, this initiative is seen as a valuable opportunity for students from both countries to engage in cultural exchange, connect, and build lasting relationships.
Expanding partnerships with international universities like Guizhou University of Finance and Economics not only enhances UEF’s educational quality but also underscores the university’s commitment to providing students with access to global education. This is also a crucial step in preparing Chinese Language students to confidently engage in international environments, laying a strong foundation for their future careers.
