UEF Student Sports Tournament "UEF Olympic 2021"

On the afternoon of March 21, "Olympic UEF 2021" - the Student Sports Tournament officially opened in a vibrant atmosphere. Hundreds of participants from different sport disciplines and a great number of fans from the UEF faculties and institutes.

The tournament was attended by Assoc. Ngo Cao Cuong - Standing Vice President of the University, Dr. Nhan Cam Tri - Vice President of the University along with the lecturers, the staff of faculties, institutes, and centers in the University.

Before entering the opening ceremony, the teams taking part in the Free-to-play group of Tug of War had fierce competitions. Accordingly, the victories belonged to the teams: 20D1QT20, Flames, QT11, 19D1KQ14, AE LAW1, and VACY – the teams with the most efforts and the most united squads.

After those amazing matches, the opening program of the UEF 2021 Olympic Games officially took place with exciting performances and the parade of the competition teams, the referees, sparking UEF's sport spirit.

On behalf of the UEF leaders, Dr. Nhan Cam Tri said to the participants: “Thanks to the thoughtful organization of the Organizing Committee, each year this major sports tournament at UEF is even more professional and monumental. The atmosphere is more exciting and exciting, the yards are also more crowded. To the team today, hopefully, you will play your best and bring high results for your team. Your hard-working today will make it a memorable Olympic season at UEF”.

Besides, to show the spirit of playing hard this year, Chan Phong - a football player of the Department of International Relations, on behalf of the team took an oath: “I promise to comply with the rules, the rules of the game given by the Organizing Committee, no violation, no dodging rules, no bad action in the competition. At the same time, each participant will go to the field with hardy determination, playing hard for the faculty”.

Sportsmanship is placed at the top of the list by athletes this season

As one of the indispensable parts in every match, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ly - the representative of the referee team of this season stated: “We promise to referee the match fairly and objectively, carefree, minimize errors during the matches". At the same time, the organizers also sent a message to the students: “Winning or losing does matter, however, the main point that needs to be most concerned is the safety of the athletes. So, I hope that you guys play your best but still keep an eye on the safety for yourself and the others”.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, teachers and students continued to have an "eye-catching" session with the group stage pulling competition from the faculties. Accordingly, in Group A, the Faculty of English and the Faculty of International Relations won respectively against the Faculty of Hospitality - Tourism and Travel Services Management and Information Technology. In Group B, the Faculty of Economics won against the Faculty of Public Relations - Communication, while the Faculty of Language and International Culture defeated the Faculty of Finance and Commerce.

The tournament will continue until the end of April 25, 2021. As for the tug of war, the qualifiers will continue to take place in the evening on March 23, March 24, March 26, and March 27.
