UEFers attend the finale of ICT Startup Competition 2025

The startup journey is never easy but it's the challenges itself that becomes the motivation for the youth to think, research and continuously create. Following the spirit, UEFers left positive remarks at many prestigious domestic and international startup competitions with highly practical projects. In addition to the achievements, UEFers continues to confirm their bravery when two teams excellently beat many strong competitors to make it to the Final Round of ICT Startup Competition 2025 organized by the Kanazawa Institute of Technology (Japan). 
With the theme “Empower the Change: Local Talents, Global Vision, Diverse Solutions” , this year’s competition not only searches for creative ideas but also honors the ability to extend the vision, multicultural connection and implement technology into reality. Out of the thirteen teams from Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam, two project teams from UEF - SHeiLD and LumiThera assert their capability to step into the decisive round. 

The Final Round will be held in Japan on February 21. There, the teams will make a presentation of their startup ideas. Each team will be given three minutes for presentation and ten minutes to debate with the judging panel consisting of professional experts in the field of startup. This isn’t just the challenge about the project’s content but also the opportunity for them to enhance their debate skills, critical thinking and the courage towards international friends. 

 

Two teams from UEF to compete at the Final Round 2025 ICT Startup Competition 

The UEFer’s journey to the Finale is the fruit of the devoting days and reflects their courageous startup spirit, dare to take risks and prepare to grasp great deals. Especially, the projects with the accompaniment and development from the practical course of project design which helped them think creatively, nurture the ability to foster business plans, market analysis and develop the sustainable business model. 

The competition goes beyond competing against each other, but also provides the precious opportunity for students to expose themselves to consultants, experts and huge businesses worldwide. The in-depth seminars such as “Global startup overview: The lesson, trends and orientation in 2025” or “Startup in Japan: Opportunities and challenges” will provide a real-world perspective of the international startup environment, assist the UEFers in not only gaining new knowledge but also connect the like-minded people.

The journey of SHIELD and LumiThera at this year’s competition serves as a huge inspiration for the team of UEFers - The young ones who always carry the innovative spirit and the desire to reach further. From the lecture halls to the international showcases, every step they take all affirm: The youngs of UEF always dare to take risks, break away from the mold and always ready to overcome their comfort zone to create differences.
