Japan is known for having one of the best education systems in the world. The number of universities, colleges, and high schools in Japan accounts for the highest proportion among Asian countries with the most advanced education systems. Moreover, the infrastructure and learning facilities for students are also highly prioritized, making Japan a preferred destination for many students.
Understanding the students’ demand for experiencing new lands and new educational methods, in October of this year, UEF will organize a student exchange program at Fukui University (Japan). This is a great chance for students to enhance their knowledge, experience an advanced learning environment, and immerse themselves in the unique culture of the land of cherry blossoms.
During the exchange program at Fukui University in Japan, students will have the opportunity to hone their English and Japanese communication skills with faculty members and students of the partner university. Students will also have a chance to learn about culture, language, local history, and visit scenic spots in the Fukui city area.
Established in 1950, Fukui University is located in Fukui City, near the center of the Honshu coast, approximately 320 km from the capital city of Tokyo. It is conveniently accessible by train to Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. Fukui University offers diverse fields of study, serving as a launchpad for engineers to become highly skilled individuals through specialized knowledge and cultural understanding. Since its establishment, the university has educated 4,147 students, including over 187 international students, some of whom are from Vietnam.
Eligible candidates for the exchange program:
- Students majoring in Japanese Language from at least the second year
- GPA from 3.0/4.0
- Possessing a Japanese language proficiency certificate of at least N2 level or equivalent;
- Entering time : October 2024
- Program duration: 6 months or 12 months
- Deadline for registration : March 27, 2024.

Previously, UEF students have also studied and experienced at institutions such as the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC), Chungbuk National University (Korea), Arizona State University - USA (ASU), Keimyung University (Korea), and Busan University (Korea), etc. Additionally, UEF has also sent students to participate in international exchange programs at Kobe International University (Japan), University College of Lillebaelt (Denmark), SolBridge International School of Business (Korea), SEGi University (Malaysia), Bangkok University (Thailand), Budapest Business University (Hungary), etc. Moreover, the students will have the opportunity to visit the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), Ingvar Kamprad Elmtaryd Agunnaryd IKEA (Thailand).
As an affiliated university committed to global education collaboration, UEF always prioritizes establishing cooperative partnerships with institutions worldwide, providing UEFers with the opportunity to experience the international educational environment through articulation programs with nearly 20 prestigious partner universities.
Many learning and visiting activities hosted by UEF help students enhance their knowledge and have memorable experiences.
The registration period for the programs is from the day of announcement until March 27. Through academic and cultural exchange activities, students can gain knowledge, develop professional skills, and experience significant and interesting cultures.
