FEBRUARY 15, for many individuals, the journey of serving the community isn’t a choice, but a rule of life, a way to find the deep meaning in everything we do - the spirit in which the Spanish and Latin American Institute would like to spread to UEFErs through the Social Impact Talk - Turning point in Serving the Community. The workshop was joined by speaker Nguyen Quy Minh - MSc. Education, Public Policy & Equity, University of Glasgow (UK), representatives of International Students Community and JCI Central SG.
During the workshop, speaker Nguyen Quy Minh shared his story of following his dreams and the ideology of contributing to the community. With her passion for the less fortunate children, she shared her experiences in helping the perceptually impaired children and the special educational method for them. Every single child deserves to receive the love and the chance to grow. She believes when we give our care, we not only changed their life but also enrich our soul.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Viet - Director of Spanish and Latin American Institute expressed the meaning of the program
The speaker emphasized that defining goals from the beginning is the compass that helps each individual stay steadfast on their path. Her journey of application and becoming a volunteer of the international communal organization greatly inspired the students. She also mentioned the valuable lessons from exposing herself to the essence of international organizations, especially on helping the impaired children.
In addition, Ms. Nguyen Quy Minh expressed that volunteer organizations are places where each person can connect, learn and contribute to society in their very own way. Every job requires strong will, especially in the journey of serving the community, and what’s important is helping others while nurturing yourselves at the same time through every small activity.
The event inspired and paved the way for connections between UEFers and societal organizations, promoting responsibility and spreading meaningful values. Organizer’s representatives also confirm UEF’s determination in giving UEFers opportunities to approach high practical programs, encourage them to enroll in communal activities for comprehensive mindset and skills development.
The program ended with various emotions and new motivation for the young ones on the journey of finding meaning in life. With this workshop, UEF once again affirm the academic mission aligns with societal responsibility, encouraging the students not only to study but giving away and dedicating themselves to a better world.
