FEBRUARY 18, being one of the dangerous diseases, tetanus can cause serious complications without timely prevention and treatment. In order to raise the awareness for the students about this disease, the UEF Center of Service-Learning in cooperation with OUCRU organizes a special promoting session with the theme “Tetetanus” . The session was joined by M. Dr. Le Thai Kim Thu, who brought essential knowledge about sightings and prevention of tetanus.

The activity received great interest of numerous UEFers

Ms. Tran Thi My Phuong - Head of UEF Center of Service-Learning presented letters of thanks to representatives of OUCRU and Dr. Kim Thu

During the session, UEFers had the opportunity to learn about tetanus - a dangerous infectious disease caused by Clostridium tetani bacteria. The disease is usually transmitted through open wounds and can cause muscle spasticity, seriously affecting the health of the infected ones. The experts presented in detail the infection mechanism, typical symptoms as well as the treatment process, help UEFers better the dangerous level of this disease.

Information of tetanus was dynamically promoted through role play

One of the highlights of the session was the direct exchange with M. Dr. Le Thai Kim Thu. With many years of experience in the medical field, Dr. Kim Thu brought real-world sharings on the importance of being fully vaccinated, proper ways of treating open wounds to prevent infection risks, and answers the student’s questions on ways to protect personal health.

Dr. Kim Thu instructed the tetanus prevention methods and how to timely treat open wounds.

More than just scientific knowledge, The program also helped UEFers raise the awareness of self protection while providing valuable information to friends and families. This is one of the meaningful activities that the UEF Center of Service-Learning conducted in order to bring practical values to UEFers. With the useful information the program provided, UEFers are now equipped with crucial knowledge to actively prevent diseases and nurture their health, contributing to the quality of life.
