Due to the partnerships with international universities, UEF created internship opportunities for students in foreign countries. During the internship in China, Phuong Nghi worked as a Vietnamese language teaching assistant for Chinese students at Guangxi University for Nationalities.

“Our main tasks are to assist the lecturer in preparing lessons, help with exams, respond to students’ questions, and monitor their study progress to report to the lecturer when necessary. Besides our teaching assistant duties, we also handle office tasks and provide logistical support in organizing activities and events for the International Institute,” Phuong Nghi shared about her work.

Joining an international internship for the first time, it was inevitable to feel nervous and quickly adapt to a new environment. However, the abundance of equipment and the enthusiastic support from the partner university helped make Phuong Nghi’s internship become more favorable.

“The living and working environment at Guangxi University of Nationalities is ideal. The lecturers are caring about the students, enthusiastically guiding us, and supporting us wholeheartedly when we face difficulties, which makes me feel more confident and comfortable during the internship,” Phuong Nghi expressed.

UEFer also added that the dormitory for international students is provided with excellent conditions; the building is fully equipped with modern facilities, meeting their daily living needs.

After the internship, Phuong Nghi also reflected on her positive changes, noting her progress from struggling with Chinese language skills to improving her ability to deliver lectures in the native language.

With the opportunity for an international internship provided by UEF, Phuong Nghi expressed, "Thanks to UEF for creating valuable opportunities for us to engage in a professional international working environment. The internship in China helped us enhance our Chinese proficiency, train our skills and professional knowledge, make our CVs more competitive, and open up opportunities for future career development."

The positive value that can be seen from an international internship includes enhanced progress in many aspects: knowledge, skills, languages, etc., and the opportunity to meet, interact with, and learn about native cultures. These are valuable, meaningful experiences that contribute to the youth's journey toward becoming global citizens. It is hoped that Phuong Nghi and other students will build a firm foundation and confidently develop their qualities and international integration after the internship.
