Youth Leaders: UEFers learned personal brand building skills and art of leadership

FEBRUARY 28, In modern society, personal branding is no longer a vivid concept but has become an essential factor that helps each individual affirm their values and leave their own marks. Especially for the youth with the leadership aspirations, personal brand building is the way to show yourself and open many development opportunities, the UEF Department of Student Services organized the “Personal brand building skills” seminar as part of the series of UEF Youth Leaders training program.

Doctor of Psychology Nguyen Huu Long, the chief speaker of the seminar, provided in-depth sharings on the importance of personal branding, especially under the viewpoint of a leader. With his personal story - From the first days of being a class president and vice president to the journey of growing in leadership roles - Mr. Long has helped students realize the values of proactively seizing opportunities. According to him, taking on leadership roles is a way to help one stand out and brings various opportunities for learning and self-developing. In addition to practical experiences, the speaker offered five leaderships according to Ho Chi Minh Ideology, stressed that the most critical factor of a leader is to build trust.

The seminar also brought dynamic practice lessons, helping students distinguish between “brand” (available personal brand) and “branding” (personal branding process). From the lessons, the UEFErs understand that personal branding not only benefits themselves but also for others to perceive and evaluate. A true leader needs to build a positive image in their family, community and spread beautiful values to everyone around.

In addition, the speaker also emphasized the revelation between personal brand and the love for UEF. He affirmed that, to take pride in your University, every UEF need to first thoroughly understand the heritage the University brought, from then, becoming the positive ambassadors for the UEFer's community.

The seminar concluded with the speaker providing many valuable lessons and greatly inspiring UEFers in the journey of personal development. This is a fundamental background for each youth to confidently step on the journey of becoming future leaders, not only professionally skilled buy also know how to figure personal value in other’s view.
