Many corporate communication topics in the Covid-19 pandemic presented at the Scientific Conference

In order to research and clearly analyze the challenges, opportunities, and solutions for business communication and development in the present time, in the morning of 24/7/2021, the UEF’s Faculty of Public Relations and Communication has organized the 2021 faculty-level scientific conference with the topic "Corporate Communication during the Covid-19 pandemic".
The seminar was held online with the participation of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ngo Cao Cuong – Vice Principal of the University, MA. Nguyen Pham Hai Ha - Deputy Head of the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Science and Technology, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Hoang Thi Hong Ha - Dean of Faculty of Public Relations and Communication, Dr. Phan Bao Giang - Vice Dean of Faculty of Public Relations and Communication and guests who are faculties’ leaders and lecturers.
 

Scientific research activities always get significant attention and focus of the UEF, especially topics related to the current context.
 
At the beginning of the seminar, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ngo Cao Cuong said: “Scientific research has been warmly responded by faculties, despite the difficult situation of the epidemic. This is very encouraging and welcome. The topic "Corporate communication during the Covid-19 pandemic" of the conference is highly practical, associated with the current business situation. Hopefully in the near future, the Faculty will organize seminars not only at the Faculty level but also at the University level or higher to demonstrate the scientific research spirit of the lecturers and the University."
Representative of the Faculty of Public Relations and Communication, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Hoang Thi Hong Ha said that the faculty has tried to organize scientific seminars for lecturers despite difficult circumstances. We hope that the teachers will give candid comments so that the topics can be further developed and published in scientific journals.
 
Eight topics being presented at the conference include: (1) “The Covid-19 pandemic affects the businesses’ advertising trends on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram” - Dr. Nguyen Tien Manh, (2) “Enterprises uses of digital media to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic” - MA. Le Minh Tan, (3) “Synchronous teaching and learning during Covid-19: a brief literature review” - MA. Pham Thai Hien, (4), "Improving problem-solving ability for students through the application of active learning methods at the HCMC University of Economics and Finance (UEF)" - MA. Nguyen Phat Tai. (5) "Application of the theory of spreading new things in local brand marketing strategies - analyzing the case of Mascot Be Sen of Dong Thap province" - Dr. Phan Bao Giang, (6) “Using media to cope with stress during the period of social distancing due to the Covid-19 pandemic” – Mr. Nguyen Anh Khoa, (7) “Reflection on Cultural Difference in Government Communication about Covid-19: A Comparison Between United Kingdom and Vietnam” - MA. Hoang Mi, (8) “Parodia and V-Parody in modern media” - Assoc.Prof.Dr. Hoang Thi Hong Ha.










Many pressing communication issues in the pandemic were studied

The topics have shown the diversity of research problems related to communication in the face of general social changes such as influence on businesses’ advertising trends, means of media, teaching methods for students, cultural differences, media...

It can be said that the Covid-19 pandemic has been and will continue to have a significant impact on almost every aspect of the social life. However, the epidemic has also highlighted the changes that have taken place in a number of fields and promotes the creativity in the way businesses do things. This is also an opportunity to bring the brand image of each individual and of the enterprise in an effective and positive way.
 
In addition to promoting the lecturers’ scientific research activities, the seminar has contributed to making recommendations for businesses and the government to create resilience for economic development, especially regarding communication issues.
