UEF organized the acceptance session for scientific research topics of Finance-Banking faculty

On 27/5/2021 morning, UEF has organized the acceptance session for the scientific research topic: “Impact of the CEO’s duality on financial performance: Regulatory role by CEO’s power” co-authored by MA. Ha Thi Thuy – Deputy Head of the UEF’s Finance – Trade faculty and MA. Nguyen Thi Kim Loan – Ton Duc Thang University.
The acceptance board includes: Dr. Le Thi Thanh Ha – Chairman, Dr. Nguyen Phuc Quynh Nhu – Feedback 1, MA. Nguyen Hong Phuong – Feedback 2, MA. Trinh Xuan Hung – Member and MA. Le Phuong Dung – Member, Secretary.
Acceptance session of the scientific research topic on 27/5 morning
At the beginning of the presentation, MA. Ha Thi Thuy has introduced the necessity of the research. Accordingly, the attention to the correlation between CEO’s duality and financial performance, the development of researches in emerging markets and the supply of practical information to managers are 03 reasons being mentioned.

MA. Ha Thi Thuy represent the group of authors to present the research topic before the Board.
By theories, collected data and quantitative research methodology, combined with examples withdrawn from previous researches, the authors have gained a comprehensive view on the topic and produce reliable research results.
This research has contributed the evidences of the impact of CEO’s characteristics on financial performance. It also discovered the relationship between CEO’s duality and financial performance through measurements under the regulatory impact by CEO’s power, including durations and CEO’s ownership ratio.
At the same time, the findings have contributed in the researches that stated that the CEO’s power measured by durations and CEO’s ownership ratio does not improve the relationship between CEO’s duality and the company’s financial performance.

The Board feedbacks and evaluates the research topic
After the authors’ presentation, the research topic has gained comments and feedbacks from the Board. Dr. Le Thi Thanh Ha – Chairman said: “I have compliments for the authors on the completeness of the presentation and the content of the research, the way authors find reliable source of data. At a university level, this is a good research that can be applied in reality and used as lecturing materials”.
Besides, the Board has also given their comments to contribute to the authors to improve the research and develop the research to higher levels.
The research done by author group led by MA. Ha Thi Thuy has contributed a topic into the scientific research materials of UEF, simultaneously promote the UEF lecturers’ enthusiasm in doing researches.
