UEF’s acceptance of the research topic on recruiting students after the internships at enterprises

Today morning (27/1), The Scientific Council of the HCMC University of Economics and Finance (UEF) has conducted the acceptance for the scientific research topics of the teachers coming from the Center for Business Cooperation. The research content that focuses on internships and companies recruiting students has been highly appreciated for both theoretical and practical significance.

The topic “Factors influencing the decisions to recruit students after internships at enterprises in HCMC: The case of UEF” done by the research team including PhD student. Le Nguyen Thanh Dong, MA. Ha Thi Hong Ha, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Loan, MA. Nguyen Khuc Lan Nhi.
Being lecturers with many years of experience in connecting students with enterprises, the research team has based their research on the theory and conduced appropriate surveys. In which, the research also analyzed the figures related to the internship period of UEF students including: full-time working duration at the companies, students’ mentors, employment rate after graduation and the per cent of students who are retained by the businesses after the internship.
From a 10-factor research model, after surveying and researching, the authors have summarized 6 factors affecting recruitment decisions including: professional knowledge, teamwork skills, communication skills, computer skills, foreign language skills (English), working style and attitude. From the research results, the authors have also proposed many measures to help UEF students enhance the above-mentioned factors in order to have better job opportunities upon graduation.

Scientific council comments and feedbacks to the research.
In order to judge a highly practical topic, the Acceptance committee included experienced lecturers in research activities, such as: Dr. Nhan Cam Tri – Deputy Principal of UEF, Dr. Ho Vien Phuong – Chief of the university’s office, MA. Le Dung – Head of Education Department, MA. Nguyen Pham Hai Ha – Deputy Head of the Institute for Postgraduate Education and Science & Technology, especially with the criticism of the enterprise’s representative, MA. Nguyen Phuc Khoa – Chairman of the Board of Directors of VISSAN Joint Stock Company.
The reviewers have evaluated the research topic from various angles, noting the significance of the topic. At the same time, the committee members have also given many feedbacks and suggestions in order to help the authors improve their research paper.

From an enterprise perspective, MA. Nguyen Phuc Khoa highly appreciates the theoretical and practical significance of the topic
Scientific research topics associated with the education and cooperation process of the University are always focused and encourage by the UEF. The contributions of lecturers from the Center for Enterprise Cooperation through this research will help the UEF’s research and student-enterprise connection become more prosperous.
