With the goal of enhancing practical professional knowledge from experts and training students to become global citizens in the context of integration, UEF consistently organizes various learning programs and student exchange activities with numerous countries worldwide.
On the morning of November 11th, the UEF United States Law Center (USCL) and Integrity Law Club (ILC) successfully organized a talk show titled: "Studying and Practicing Law in the United States: Legal studies and Taxation - Opportunities and Challenges".
Another talkshow with useful international factor for UEFers.
The talkshow featured insights from two highly experienced experts: Dr. and Lawyer Danny Duy - an attorney at Mekong Vime JSC Group and CPA Lynn Huynh - a senior tax consultant at Deloitte.
The talkshow took place online via the Zoom platform, with the participation of: Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, Director of the UEF USCL; LLM. Nguyen Nam Trung, Dean's Assistant of the Faculty of Law; lecturers of the Faculty of Law; and the attention of many UEF students.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang shared before starting the talk show.
Working in the field of taxation in the United States requires extensive certifications and diverse practical experience. Speaker Lynn Huynh provided detailed information to students about the path to conquering the CPA certificate— crucial credential for roles related to accounting, auditing, and taxation. Additionally, she shared intriguing real-life stories about the profession by addressing students' queries.
Dr. Danny Duy, a lawyer, followed up with insights into the IRAC method. This method is familiar to law students and professionals alike, representing Issue, Rule, Application, and Conclusion. IRAC is a method of constructing basic legal arguments and thoughts, aiding in the development of clear and logical arguments. It serves as an easily understandable method for legal writing and speaking for both author and readers.
The speakers clarified a lot of information about law and taxation in the United States.
UEFers actively posed numerous questions to the two speakers to clarify the opportunities and challenges of the law sector and taxation in the United States.
Speaker Lynn Huynh provided comprehensive insights into tax-related issues. For the part of speaker Danny Duy, he also shared about opportunities to studying law in the US and required certifications for practicing law in this country. Moreover, both experts analyzed the topic of AI in this special sector. They emphasized that while AI is currently advancing rapidly, its application in the legal and taxation field still faces some limitations, making it not yet widely pervasive.
Law students at UEF have new directions for the future
The talk show concluded with a wealth of valuable information for UEF students.
