UEFers Expand Practical Knowledge of U.S. Labor Law with Experienced Expert

In today's globalized world, studying and working in developed countries offer students valuable opportunities to enhance their knowledge, skills, and career prospects. The U.S., which has an advanced and modern legal system, plays a pioneering role in implementing globalization policies and special welfare policies for employees.

 

In order to help UEF students expand their practical knowledge of U.S’s Labor Law, even so challenges and opportunities of Vietnamese students’ seeking jobs in the U.S, the US Law Center (USLC) of UEF Law Faculty and Integrity Law Club (ILC) organized an online talk show on May 25 titled “Overview of the U.S. Labor Law: Opportunities and Challenges for Vietnamese Students When Getting a Job in the U.S.”. Fortunately, the online event attracted participation from leaders, lecturers and a large number of students of the Faculty of Law.

 

The speaker provided students with a wealth of valuable knowledge

 

The event featured speaker Nguyen Phuc Thai Duong, who is a Director of Human Resources at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health and also a naval officer of the U.S. Navy Reserve. With knowledge, experience, as well as life and work experiences in the United States, the speaker brought valuable insights and opened doors for students who are looking for employment opportunities in this country.

 

The main points shared by Mr. Nguyễn Dương Thái

 

At the beginning of the talk show, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Thai Duong gave students an overview of career opportunities in pursuing a degree in Law and the essential knowledge, necessary skills for a future lawyer, particularly emphasizing practical learning. The speaker presented a lot of stories about labor law in the United States, such as employee’s participation in labor relations, related rights and obligations, which helped students gain an understanding of the opportunities and challenges of finding work in a multicultural environment in this country.

 

In the event, UEFers also had the opportunity to interact with speakers, learn more, and have their questions answered about the topic of labor law, as well as the challenges and opportunities when getting a job in the United States. The differences in the work environment were also clarified by the speaker through various illustrations.

 

The talk show was successful with a large number of UEF lecturers and students participating.

 

With the detailed information and explanations from Mr. Nguyen Duong Thai, UEF students gained more understanding and practical insights into the U.S. labor law, they also equipped themselves with the necessary knowledge and skills for success in their future careers while still in school.
