Beyond the Notes 2025 Finals: Upon musics music speaks emotion, the stage shines with talent

APRIL 10 - UEF was set ablaze with emotion during the grand finale of Beyond the Notes 2025 – Music Talent Competition, organized by the UEF International Institute. The event offered a vibrant artistic space where UEFers fully showcased their talents, personalities, and passion through 10 outstanding performances, including singing and theatrical acts. From soulful melodies to humorous and heartfelt skits, the night was a perfect blend of emotion, creativity, and stage performance.

The grand finale brought diverse emotions for audiences from UEF

Upon the Beyond the Notes 2025 Finale was featured by the presence of Mr. Nguyen Chi Linh, Director of the Binh Tay Transaction Office of Vikky Digital Bank; Mr. Phan Van Khai, Head of the Partner Development of Vikky Digital Bank; and Ms. Vo Truong Lan Chau, Deputy Head of Binh Tay Sales Department, Vikky Digital Bank.
On behalf of UEF, representatives were Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc, Vice President; Mr. Nguyen Ba Anh, Deputy Director of the International Institute; Mr. Vo Le Binh Minh, Director of International Institute Admission; Ms. Phan Ly Nguyen Trinh, Head of Student Affairs; Mr. Hoang Tran Quang Duong; Head of Academic Affairs; and Ms. Pham Hoang Minh Ngoc, Head of Academic Support, along with other faculty members, staff, and a large number of UEFers.

The Final Round featured performances by 10 outstanding individual and group contestants, carefully selected from a pool of talented young performers. Determining this year’s Champion was no easy task for the panel of expert judges, which included Ms. Phan Thuy Duong, Director of Partner Development at Vikki Digital Bank; singers Hoang My An, Dao Ky Anh, and Phan Yen Tho; and Mr. David Maher, a faculty member at the UEF International Institute.

The ten finalist teams took the stage at Beyond the Notes 2025, showcasing two vibrant artistic genres: singing and theatrical performance. Each act created a unique world, reflecting the individuality and performance style of each contestant or group.

In the singing performances, the audience was taken on an emotional journey through heartfelt ballads and high-energy, dynamic tunes. Meanwhile, in the theatrical segment, teams skillfully wove meaningful messages into every line of dialogue, crafting stories that were both humorous and touching, leaving a lasting emotional impact.

The performances were invested from concept to stage design

Thanks to their dedication and hard work during rehearsals, all ten teams delivered impressive performances that captivated both the judges and the audience. Each act showcased meticulous attention to costumes, props, confident stage presence, and professional performance skills. In addition to recognizing technical ability, the judges also praised the teams' creativity, teamwork, stagecraft, and especially the meaningful, human-centered stories and messages conveyed on this important final night.

The judges provided in - depth comments to enhance performance’s quality

After a series of intense performances, the most outstanding acts were honored with well-deserved awards. Vu Thanh Thuy captivated the audience with her powerful rendition of "Always Remember Us This Way", achieving the Outstanding Singing Performance award. The Outstanding Musical Play Performance went to Nguyen Phuong Thao’s team for their compelling and creative piece, "The Mysterious Room". With their nostalgic and expressive act "Back to That Summer", Anh Tho’s team proudly accomplished the Best Performance award. Additionally, the Impressive Performance award recognized two standout acts: Bao Vy’s team for their energetic mashup of "Kiss Me" and "Uptown Funk", and Bui Ky Anh’s team for their fresh and entertaining adaptation titled "Romeo and Jack".

The Beyond the Notes 2025 finale has come to an end, but the echoes of emotion-filled melodies and powerful stage stories still linger in the hearts of the audience. More than just a platform to showcase artistic talent, the competition served as a space for connection, sharing, and spreading the spirit of creativity and passion. With youthful energy and a burning love for the arts, UEFers are sure to keep leaving their mark on the journey ahead.
