DECEMBER 20, third - year students majoring in English and Linguistics participated in the final review of their community projects as a part of the Engaging Humanities course. The event welcomed the participation of Ms. Tran Phuong Quynh - Deputy Director of the International Institute, Vice President of Gloucestershire Vietnam, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao - Faculty Advisor, Ms. Tran Thi My Phuong - Head of UEF Center of Service-Learning and Ms. Chu Nguyen Hoa Anh Dao - Representative of Truyen Tin Shelter.

This event was organized to review the implementation of the community projects and offered students the opportunity to present their outputs and accomplishments. Notable projects from this semester included:

Project 1: Supplementary English lessons for 9th-grade students, helping them prepare more effectively for high school entrance exams.

Project 2: Basic English classes for young children, aimed at building a strong language foundation from an early age.
- Project 3: A communication campaign promoting and selling handmade herbal tea products to raise funds in support of the Truyen Tin Shelter.
During the event, student groups gave detailed presentations on their project implementation process, the obstacles they faced, and the solutions they implemented to overcome these challenges. The outputs of these projects included lesson plans, teaching materials, and fundraising reports, all of which reflected the students’ creativity, responsibility, and teamwork skills. The panel commended the students’ dedication and development, recognizing the tangible impact on the community.

The Engaging Humanities course’s community initiatives allowed students to apply their academic knowledge in practice as well as equipped them with essential skills and a sense of responsibility, alongside cultivating empathy and kindness with the less fortunate ones. By engaging in such meaningful endeavors, students learned the importance of contribution and deepened their understanding of sharing and creating a positive societal impact. This experience serves as a crucial foundation for students to integrate into the global community, becoming exemplary global citizens who align personal development with societal benefit.
