07/05/2024

Global internships provide Public Relations and Communication students with useful and practical knowledge

One notable student from class 20D1TT-KD01 is Pham Phuong Thao, who completed an internship at Don't Overthink Limited Company (Singapore) in December 2023. She is now a full-time employee, working as a Digital Marketing Associate. Phuong Thao shared her experience with the online international internship: “I was excited because foreign companies offer competitive salaries for interns. The fully English-speaking environment met my expectations, so I inquired about the position and decided to apply.”

Students can apply their knowledge from school subjects like Marketing Communication, Public Relations Campaign Strategies, International Communication, etc., and various other skills learned at school to the workplace during internships at international communication companies. This opportunity serves as a golden ticket for UEFers to demonstrate, strengthen, and enhance their abilities and competence in the global labor market.

Thanks to the subjects that I learned at school, I was more confident in the workplace, particularly in a global environment. The major subjects taught in English helped me avoid communication problems at work," said Hoang Minh Ha, class 20D1QC-SK06, who worked as a Designer, Video Editor, and Content Creator Intern at PVO Media from October 2023 to February 2024.

Hoang Minh Ha said - “Be able to comprehend and communicate in specialized English is a great advantage”

Moreover, internships in a global environment offer students the opportunity to access modern technology, processes, and the latest trends in the international communication field. These experiences help students develop their skills, become well-rounded communication experts, and be well-prepared for essential roles in the future.

One of the outstanding students of the faculty, Cao Vu Yen Nhi from class 20D1TT-KD01, received an offer to work as a full-time staff member with a salary of 50 million VND per month at Berlitz Singapore, even before completing her internship. Yen Nhi shared that there are four key elements students should focus on if they aspire to succeed globally: adaptability and respect for different cultures, proactive skill improvement, effective time management, and maintaining good relationships with colleagues and superiors after the internship, as these can serve as stepping stones to future career opportunities.

UEF, particularly the Faculty of Public Relations and Communication, believes that when PRCers seize a chance to be interns at international companies, it not only helps students develop themselves but also applies and completes the precious knowledge that they gained from the bilingual international environment. This will be a stepping stone to their solid communication career.
