International Relations UEFers Equipped for Expanded Internship Opportunities in Japan

Building on the success of the Japan Internship Programme for students in Japanese Language and Business Administration, UEF continues to expand international internship programs for students in the International Relations field. This program not only allows students to experience diverse work environments but also enhances their understanding of global issues, equipping them with the essential skills to succeed in an increasingly globalized job market.


A wealth of important information about the internship program in Japan was provided to students

OCTOBER 10, the Faculty of International Relations collaborated with the UEF Center of Vietnam-Japan Human Resources Development and the Center of Corporate Partnerships to organize a Japan Internship Programme Information Day. During this event, students received detailed information and specific requirements to best prepare for their journey toward a successful internship in Japan.

Representing the corporate sector at the event was Mr. Nguyen Phuong Trinh, Director of IFK Education and Translation Co., Ltd. On behalf of UEF, Dr. Dao Minh Hong, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations; Mr. Vo Van Thanh Than, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of International Languages and Cultures and Director of the Vietnam-Japan Human Resource Development Center; Ms. Nguyen Thai Ha, Deputy Director of the Center of Corporate Partnerships; and Ms. Le Phuong Cat Nhi, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of International Relations, were in attendance.

In today’s globalized world, experiencing and understanding diverse cultural values has become essential. The Japan Internship Program offers students from the Faculty of International Relations an opportunity not only to familiarize themselves with a professional work environment but also to gain deeper insights into the culture, economy, and politics of one of Asia’s leading developed nations. By participating in this program, students can apply theoretical knowledge in practice, develop soft skills, and build networks, thereby enhancing their competitiveness in the international job market.

Throughout the program, Mr. Vo Van Thanh Than and MSc. Nguyen Thai Ha provided students with detailed information about the paid internship program in Japan. They emphasized that this opportunity allows students to gain practical experience, expand their knowledge, learn an additional language, and work in a highly advanced and professional environment. This experience also serves as a “springboard” for students to more easily enter the global job market.

Following this, the corporate representative shared insights into the internship program in the restaurant, hotel, and resort sectors in Japan. This program offers students the chance to train in a professional setting and experience Japan’s unique culinary and tourism culture.

During the session, many questions were thoroughly addressed by UEF and corporate representatives, covering topics such as the specific roles students would undertake as interns, the application process, interview preparation, salary, allowances, program participation costs, and credit transfers for participating in the internship.

It is noted that interview sessions will be regularly organized in accordance with UEF and partner guidelines. Students can seize this opportunity to register for interviews and realize their dreams of going abroad, promising many valuable experiences and knowledge for their career development.

Notably, for selected candidates, the university will offer free preparatory classes to help them improve their language skills and gain insights into relevant information and skills aligned with Japanese culture.

The program has been regularly introduced to students through meetings and information-sharing sessions, providing essential details about overseas internship opportunities. These informational sessions not only help students overcome obstacles and barriers in accessing international employment opportunities but also deliver valuable insights from both the university and industry partners. Through the discussions in the program, it is hoped that students from the Faculty of International Relations will find the motivation to venture abroad, learn, grow personally, and gather unforgettable memories in the Land of the Rising Sun.
