International UEFers excitedly experience on Vietnamese culinary processing activities

APRIL 5 - The International Institute held a workshop titled “How to Make Traditional Vietnamese Banh Xeo” for international students currently participating in the mobility program at UEF. The event aimed to create a cultural exchange opportunity through cooking and enjoying the flavors of Vietnam, helping students from partner universities in the UK and France explore and gain a deeper understanding of this unique aspect of Vietnamese cuisine during their time at UEF.
The event was honored to welcome the participation of Prof. Dr. Eric Jose Olmedo Panal, Director of the International Institute. In charge of sharing and guiding students was  Mrs. Ho Dac Thieu Anh, Deputy Director of UNESCO Center for Vietnamese Culinary Culture.

The workshop focused on guiding international students through the hands-on process of making traditional Vietnamese banh xeo. The participants began by learning about the basic ingredients. Then, UEF lecturers and students provided detailed, easy-to-follow instructions for each step in preparing this iconic dish.
With enthusiastic support from the workshop team, the international students were excited to make their very first banh xeo. Although they were initially unfamiliar with some of the techniques at first, their eagerness to learn and their teamwork helped them gradually become more confident and skillful, resulting in beautifully made pancakes.

After the cooking session, UEFers and lecturers shared the joy of tasting their creations together.  The unique flavor of this traditional Vietnamese dish won over the international students’ palates, earning plenty of compliments and expressions of delight.

The “How to Make Traditional Vietnamese Banh Xeo” workshop offered meaningful moments of cultural exchange through cuisine and left international students at UEF with unforgettable memories. Surely, the rich flavors of Vietnamese food will become a cherished part of their study journey at UEF.
