Connect with Creativity: Special event for Vietnamese and Korean students at UEF

JANUARY 8, the Vietnam-Korea Student Startup Idea Competition 2025 officially took place, marked the first step on the entrepreneurial journey for students from both countries.
After a month of initiation, the competition received participation of 11 teams from Vietnam and Korea. Each team presented a creative startup idea, aiming to contribute to community transformation and societal development.

Innovative startup ideas presented at this year's competition
Representing UEF were Dr. Nhan Cam Tri - Vice President, Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Linh - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Languages and International Cultures and Dr. Bui Thi My Linh - Head of the Korean Language, alongside leaders, lecturers, and staff from various departments. Guests included Mr. Cho Young Cheol – Director of the Startup Cooperation Fund, Chungbuk National University.
The jury panel featured Ms. Ha Le Thu Hoai - Deputy Director of the Center of Project Design Education, Ms. Vuong Thu Phuong - Founder & CEO Forewell, Mr. Kim Hee Sup - Head of the Startup Support Division at Sunchonhyang University, and Mr. Yoo Jeonhoon - Deputy Director of the Startup Support Center at Korea University Sejong Campus. The participation of these entrepreneurship experts not only provided insightful evaluations but also offered contestants a clearer understanding of the global market, helping them refine their ideas.
In his opening speech, Mr. Kim Hee Sup encouraged participants: “A project’s true success is measured by how well its products are received and valued by consumers. Coming up with a fresh idea is a major accomplishment that goes beyond just knowledge. I hope you create products that are valuable to users and adapt well to the changing times."

Each team presented their own innovative and potential startup ideas, reflecting their ability to identify and address the communal needs. Their projects concentrated on various fields including health care, technology, study abroad, and environmental sustainability. All aimed to deliver practical value to society. The teams demonstrated meticulous preparation with solutions that were both innovative and comply with current trends.

While sharing their group’s ideas, the contestants showed enthusiasm and dedication. They delivered a strong message about the necessity of innovation across all fields. Each team aspired to create practical solutions to address current social issues. The presentations by all 11 teams brought an inspiring atmosphere, as every project was not only a product of creativity but also a moving story about faith in the future and the ability to transform the surrounding world.
Feedback and insights from the jury

Before announcing the results, Mr. Yoo Jeonghoon offered heartfelt advice to the contestants: “To successfully implement a startup project, you need practical experience and professional knowledge. Despite the challenges, I’m delighted to see that you have prepared thoroughly. Ideas are not only evaluated in competitions but also through real users feedback. Whether your idea wins or not, you must persevere and continue developing it to bring practical value to the community."

"Every idea has the potential for success if you have enough trust and persistence in its realization," emphasized the representative from Chungcheong.
Certificates of participation for all contestants

The award for outstanding startup idea was as follows: 
- Consolation Prize: Smart Glasses (Vietnam); 
- Third Prize: Airable (South Korea);
- Second Prize: Snowy Pet Service Solution & App (South Korea)
- First Prize: Nha Rong Board Game (Vietnam)
In addition to these prizes, contestants also have the certification of participation and opportunity for interaction with entrepreneurs expertises and sponsors, paving the way for future development of their ideas.

The Vietnam-Korea Student Startup Idea Competition 2025 served as more than just a platform for young entrepreneurs. It was an invaluable opportunity for students to showcase their creativity, engage with the international startup community, and learn from experts. By participating in this competition, participants gained crucial knowledge and skills to turn their ideas into reality.
