OCTOBER 6, the Faculty of Languages and International Cultures, in collaboration with UEF Center of Corporate Partnership, sent off two students to Japan as they prepared for an enriching international internship experience. At the farewell gathering, faculty members offered heartfelt advice and encouragement to boost the students’ confidence, helping them adapt to the new environment and make the most of this valuable internship.
At the airport to bid farewell and express their hopes for the students’ success were Mr. Vo Van Thanh Than, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Languages and International Cultures and Director of the UEF Center of Vietnam-Japan Human Resources Development and Mr. Nguyen Thai Ha, Deputy Director of the Center of Corporate Partnerships. Representatives from IFK, the organization coordinating the students’ internships in Japan, also assisted with procedures at the airport.
UEFers gain the opportunity to intern and experience life in Japan
On this international internship journey, two Japanese Language majors, Tran Thi Thanh Nhan and Dinh Thi Anh Tho, will begin their internships at Kyohsai Farm/Furano Jam Garden, an agricultural production company in Japan. Both students are currently in their fourth year. Throughout their studies and training at UEF, they have been equipped with a solid foundation of knowledge and cultural understanding of Japan, along with essential job skills. Given their abilities, it is believed that they will excel in their internships, gaining valuable lessons and experience before graduation.
This internship program spans approximately one year, from October 2024 to October 2025, and includes work across various fields aligned with the students' expertise and career goals. It’s not only an opportunity for the two students to deepen their knowledge and gain hands-on experience but also a chance to immerse themselves in Japanese culture, lifestyle, and work ethic.
This is an opportunity for UEF students to learn and develop themselves in an international environment
During the farewell, faculty members shared sincere words of encouragement with Thanh Nhan and Anh Tho. Offering advice to the students at this important milestone, Mr. Nguyen Thai Ha said, “This is a valuable opportunity to build yourselves, not only in terms of professional skills but also in adapting to the lifestyle and work culture of a dynamic, professional international environment. UEF will always be a strong support system, ready to assist you throughout your internship. With that, I hope you embark on this journey with confidence, boldly showcase your abilities, and gather meaningful experiences for the future.” The heartfelt encouragement and guidance from the faculty not only boosted the students’ morale but also underscored the school’s deep commitment to the holistic development of its students.
The internship in Japan not only provides students with direct exposure to an international work environment but also helps them develop essential soft skills, such as communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and proficiency in the Japanese language. Moreover, living and working in another country broadens young people’s perspectives, deepening their understanding of local culture and helping them become more adaptable and confident for the future.
International internships like those of Thanh Nhan and Anh Tho reaffirm the university's commitment to enhancing educational quality by offering students comprehensive, global learning experiences. This is a valuable opportunity for Japanese Language majors in particular, and for all students in general, to develop themselves, become global citizens, and step confidently onto the world stage, ready to integrate with peers worldwide.
