UEF and UNSW College Partner to Explore Study Opportunities in Australia for Students

SEPTEMBER 25, UEF held a meeting with representatives from UNSW College, the affiliated college of the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, Australia. Several programs from UNSW College were discussed to explore their suitability for implementation for UEF students.

Representing UNSW College were Ms. Michelle Willoughby - Business Development Manager TNE, and Mr. Long Nguyen - Regional Manager Mekong and Japan. Representing UEF were Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc, Vice President; Professor Eric Jose Olmedo Panal, Director of the UEF International Institute; Ms. Tran Phuong Quynh, Deputy Director of the UEF International Institute; and Mr. Nguyen Ba Anh, Deputy Director of the UEF International Institute.

During the meeting, the two institutions discussed several programs offered by UNSW College, including the Foundation Studies programme, Diploma Programmes, and English Language Courses.

The Foundation Studies program is designed to academically prepare international students for direct entry into the first year of a Bachelor’s program at UNSW. The Diploma program is a one-year course that enables students to complete the equivalent of the first year of a Bachelor’s program at UNSW. The English Language Courses provide academic and communication-focused English training to help students meet the English language entry requirements for academic programs.



The meeting between UEF and UNSW College serves as a foundation for establishing a new collaborative partnership in the future

The representatives from both sides also engaged in detailed discussions regarding entry requirements, tuition fees, study duration, and admissions procedures. It was noted that upon completing the Foundation or Diploma programs at UNSW College, students can transfer to Bachelor’s programs at UNSW with recognized credits.

Following these initial discussions, the two institutions will continue to deliberate, review, and agree upon the elements necessary to implement the programs for students. This meeting also serves as a foundation for fostering a new international partnership in the future.
