Aligned with its goal of internationalizing education, UEF continues to expand both the number and quality of its global partnerships. This commitment has enabled many students to fulfill their dream of studying abroad with enticing benefits, including full scholarships.
As part of the 2024-2025 student exchange programme, UEF will offer 100% tuition scholarships for students participating in studies in South Korea. This is a prime opportunity for UEFers to enhance their knowledge, experience an advanced educational environment, and immerse themselves in the unique culture of South Korea.
UEFers "Studying Abroad" in Korea with a 100% Tuition Scholarship
UEF offers students a unique opportunity to study in South Korea through partnerships with Chungbuk National University and Keimyung University. This program is open to second-year students and above who are majoring in Korean Language Studies and have achieved a cumulative GPA of at least 2.8 out of 4.0. Selected students will receive a full scholarship covering 100% of tuition fees. The programme spans six months, with studies set to commence in February 2025.
UEF has demonstrated its commitment to collaborating with universities in South Korea through a series of MOUs on academic partnerships, as well as summer camps, summer semesters, and cultural exchange programmes. Alongside these initiatives, UEFers have shown a deep passion for the Korean language and culture, actively participating in a wide range of competitions, from the performing arts to academic challenges, and have achieved remarkable accomplishments. Notable programmes and competitions include the K-pop Academy, the National Korean Speaking Contest, the Cultural Exchange Session, and the Cultural Treasure Hunt 2024, among others.

According to the organizers, students enrolling in courses at the partner universities must register for a minimum course load equivalent to 3 to 6 UEF courses. These courses will be reviewed and may be recognized as equivalent to UEF courses upon the students’ return, based on UEF’s regulations. Additionally, students will receive a certificate confirming their participation in the exchange programme.
In addition to the personal benefits, UEFers are expected to comply with the regulations of the host university, respect the local laws and customs of the host country, and uphold UEF’s standards abroad. Students should temporarily withdraw from UEF courses during their exchange and complete the re-enrollment procedures at UEF upon finishing the exchange programme.
Upon completing the exchange, students must submit their academic transcripts and confirmation of programme completion to the UEF International Institute and the Department of Academic Services for the process of evaluating course equivalency (if desired). Additionally, students are required to pay any applicable fee differences for credit transfers based on UEF's policies.
Note: Academic results from Chungbuk National University and Keimyung University will be used as a basis for considering the continuation of recruitment scholarships for the following academic year (if applicable). Should students choose not to transfer credits from their exchange studies, the tuition paid for the semester at UEF will be deferred to the next semester.
Numerous Practical Benefits from the 2024–2025 Student Exchange Programme
Stepping outside their comfort zones and integrating into a global environment, UEFers have the opportunity to express and develop themselves. Living and studying in a new and unfamiliar place for half a year fosters independence, as UEFers learn to care for themselves, adapt to living independently, overcome challenges, and solve problems on their own.
Through this experience, students will also benefit from exposure to advanced and innovative educational methods, enhancing the quality of their studies. The focus on independent thinking and flexibility in applying knowledge will significantly improve students' self-learning abilities.
Beyond classroom learning, students will have the chance to immerse themselves in local lifestyles and cultural traditions. Living and studying abroad in a culturally rich environment allows UEFers to use a foreign language daily—speaking, listening, reading, and writing naturally—which will help them achieve greater language proficiency by the end of the programme.
During the exchange, students will also participate in extracurricular trips, sports, competitions, cultural activities, and recreational events. These experiences help them expand their network with friends from different countries, creating additional opportunities for learning, career development, and personal growth.
By studying and interacting with new people, UEFers will gain insights into the host country's unique aspects while sharing the cultural richness of their own. This fosters lasting relationships that can continue even after students return home.
The full 100% scholarship for this exchange programme in South Korea is a valuable opportunity, demonstrating UEF's commitment to supporting students in Korean Language Studies. For those passionate about the Korean language, culture, and customs, this programme offers a chance to gain meaningful experiences while still in university. After six months, UEFers will return with enhanced knowledge, skills, perspectives and essential life experiences to aid in personal development and readiness for global integration.
