The delegation from Japan was warmly welcomed by Mr. Vo Van Thanh Than, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Languages and International Cultures and Director of the UEF Center of Vietnam-Japan Human Resources Development , along with faculty representatives from the UEF International Institute.
Representing Kansai University, Japan, the attendees included Ms. Okada Yuko from International Plaza, Ms. Luu Thi Thu Hien from the Kansai University Representative Office in Hanoi, Mr. Aburada Kazuki from International Education, and Ms. Akahori Norika.
Representing UEF, Mr. Vo Van Thanh Than provided an overview of the institution, highlighting its ongoing and expanding international exchange and cooperation programs. In Japan, UEF has partnered with several major universities and successfully organized numerous student exchange and international semester programs in recent years.
Notably, the number of students participating in internships in Japan continues to grow, reflecting the strong collaborative relationships UEF has established with Japanese institutions and partners. Mr. Than emphasized that this serves as a significant foundation for forging a new partnership with Kansai University in the near future.
Ms. Okada Yuko provided detailed insights into Kansai University, a prestigious private university in Osaka renowned for its quality education. With a diverse range of disciplines spanning from natural sciences to social sciences, the university attracts a significant number of international students each year for exchange and study programmes. She emphasized that Kansai University offers an ideal environment for UEFers to participate in short-term exchange and study programmes, enabling them to broaden their knowledge, build international friendships, and experience Japanese culture firsthand.
During the discussions, both universities identified short-term exchange programs as a feasible initiative that could be implemented in the near future. Specifically, UEFers would have the opportunity to participate in an international study programme lasting approximately two weeks at Kansai University. This program would include academic activities, cultural experiences highlighting the unique traditions of Japan, and student exchange sessions with Japanese peers.
Conversely, UEF also hosts similar annual programs designed for students from partner universities, fostering mutual exchange and collaboration.
