FEBRUARY 7 - At the dawn of the Lunar New Year of the Snake, UEF officially launched its journey to bring UEFers abroad with an international internship program in Indonesia. This marks the first time UEFers have had the chance to gain practical learning experience in this country, following the success of nearly 300 interns who have participated in overseas internships in nations such as Japan, the United States, Singapore, China, and more.
After thorough preparation, four students from the Faculty of Economics (Truong Ngoc Huong Linh, Bui Le Huy) and from the Faculty of Finance and Accounting (Nguyen Thi Thien Kim, Phan Thi Yen Vy) officially departed for their 3-month internship at BNI Bank Indonesia, one of the leading financial institutions in the thousand islands country.
UEF lecturers presented from early morning to see off students participating in the international internship
In the vibrant atmosphere at the airport, UEF lecturers were present to bid farewell and motivate the students. Accompanying the students were Mr. Do Quoc Anh - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Ms. Nguyen Thai Ha - Deputy Director of the Center of Corporate Partnerships, and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting.
Sharing advice before the students embarked on their journey, Mr. Do Quoc Anh thoughtfully remarked: “This is the first time UEF has sent students to Indonesia for internships. The country shares cultural similarities with Vietnam but also has significant differences, particularly in terms of religion. This journey is not only an experience but also a valuable chance for you to demonstrate your abilities and confidence as UEFers on the international stage. If you leave a positive impression on our partners, it will pave the way for the university to continue sending interns here in the future. So, your mission is not only to complete your internship but also to represent UEF’s image on the global stage.”
Three years of study at UEF have equipped these students with strong knowledge and essential skills to enter the professional world. Bui Le Huy, a student from the Faculty of Economics, shared his excitement: “This is an amazing opportunity for me to experience both the culture and working environment in Indonesia. After my time at UEF, I feel ready to take on this new challenge. I believe this journey will provide me with invaluable lessons and opportunities for personal development, especially in improving my language skills. UEF has thoroughly prepared me with the necessary skills and guidelines for studying and working abroad. In addition to the knowledge I’ve gained, I also received practical insights from my lecturers and senior students, which gave me the confidence to adapt quickly."

Parents also shared their trust and expectations for this internship program. Ms. Tran Thi Tuyet Nhung, mother of Phan Thi Yen Vy, emotionally expressed: “I’m very grateful to UEF for giving my child the opportunity to explore a new learning environment. This will be a chance for her to broaden her horizons and develop essential skills. I hope that in the future, my child and other UEF students will continue to have meaningful experiences like this.”
The international internship program in Indonesia not only unlocked a prosper future for UEFers but also indicates the expansion of the university’s network of global partners. Previously, UEF had nearly 300 students who interned in countries like Japan, the United States, Singapore, and China. Indonesia, with its cultural similarities to Vietnam yet distinct and unique features, promises to be an exciting destination, offering UEFers diverse and meaningful experiences.
This internship is a journey of discovery, personal growth, and new horizons. With careful preparation and determination, UEF believes that the students will achieve great success, bringing the UEFers spirit closer to the world.
