Recognizing the growing potential for job opportunities in the Japanese market and aiming to introduce these prospects to current students and alumni of the Japanese Language programme, on the morning of October 2, UEF Center of Vietnam-Japan Human Resources Development held the first workshop of the 2024-2025 academic year titled “Job Opportunities for UEFers in Japan.”
Presenting employment opportunities in Japan to UEFers were Mr. Huynh Trong Hien, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cocoro International Joint Stock Company, Ms. Tran Thi Hang, Head of Human Resources at Cocoro International Joint Stock Company, along with managers and staff from the company.
On UEF's side, attendees included leadership from the UEF Center of Vietnam-Japan Human Resources Development, the Center of Corporate Partnerships, the Japanese Language Department within the Faculty of Languages and International Cultures, along with faculty members and more than 50 students and alumni interested in this special “overseas” opportunity.
To provide students with a comprehensive overview of life in Japan, Mr. Huynh Trong Hien presented a short video showcasing a day of studying and working that interns typically experience. The company representatives also highlighted the valuable benefits that students would gain from this opportunity, such as experiencing work and life in the land of cherry blossoms, increasing personal income with an attractive salary, enhancing language proficiency, building their personal value, and establishing a strong foundation for future career prospects. Notably, students could also have the chance to gain permanent residency in Japan.
According to Mr. Trong Hien, Cocoro currently offers a one-year internship position in Hiroshima, Japan, involving the inspection and assembly of automotive components. This role does not require prior technical skills and provides a competitive salary along with attractive employee benefits. Interviews for this position are scheduled for March 2025, and Cocoro will assist students with all application and procedural requirements.
During the exchange with the company, UEFers confidently asked questions to learn more about the work environment, salary, insurance benefits, and essential skills needed to work in Japan. Mr. Trong Hien provided detailed answers and shared additional insights about the famous city of Hiroshima, where students will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and immerse themselves in a year of practical work.
Japanese Language students are especially interested in job opportunities in Japan, the native country of their field of study
Through the opportunity to listen and interact with representatives from Cocoro, UEF students gained valuable information about internships and job prospects, helping them better prepare for their future careers. The workshop provided deeper insights into Japan’s work culture, equipped them with practical knowledge about the Japanese labor market, and fostered their enthusiasm for pursuing international career aspirations.
