UEF partners with Seoul University of Foreign Studies to grow international academic programs

APRIL 4 - UEF held a meeting and officially signed an MOU with Seoul University of Foreign Studies (SUFS), UEF’s new partner in language and translation - interpretation training in South Korea. The event opened up numerous opportunities for international learning and academic exchange for UEFers and learners, especially those studying Korean Language and aspiring to experience an advanced educational environment in South Korea.

On behalf of SUFS were Mr. Lee Jung Sook, Dean Faculty of Vietnamese - Korean Translation and Interpretation; Mrs. Lee Seo-Hyeon, Director Department of Administration; and Mrs. Ye Sung Ho - Director Department of International Cooperation. Representing UEF included Dr. Nhan Cam Tri, Vice President; Dr. Nguyen Kim Thoa, Deputy Director of the International Institute; Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Linh, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Languages and International Cultures; and Dr. Bui Thi My Linh, Head of the Korean Language.
During the meeting, the two parties introduced an overview of each university's training strengths, shared development orientations in the field of education, and discussed in detail possible cooperation activities in the coming time.

The key content of the collaboration focused on developing international academic exchange programs, short-term semesters, and opportunities for pursuing Master degree at SUFS—particularly for UEFers majoring in languages who wish to advance their professional expertise in South Korea. The SUFS representative emphasized a strong desire to collaborate in training high-quality Vietnamese–Korean interpreters and translators, with an emphasis on specialization, practical application, and meeting the demands of globalization.

Additionally, co-teaching classes implementation, international seminars and graduate abroading scholarships were also the significant content in collaborative orientation between the two universities in the future.

The MOU signing ceremony between UEF and SUFS was a meaningful milestone, contributing to the expansion of UEF’s international partnership network in South Korea, while reaffirming the University’s strong commitment to the internationalization of education.

Under this influence, the UEFers can enrich their professional knowledge and, more importantly, cultivate their advanced language proficiency in one of the leading education systems in Asia.
