UEF welcomes FIBAA professional delegation for quality accreditation of the two academic programs

In the context of continuously enhancing and international integration education, training quality enhancing and ensuring serves as a crucial factor for a university to affirm its position and attract learners. The international accreditation standards not only serves as a quality evaluation but also unlock various opportunities for educational institutes to approach advanced models and update modern training trends.
With this spirit, the University of Economics and Finance Ho Chi Minh City (UEF) has been continuously striving to enhance training quality and gradually achieve international accreditation standards, starting with the quality accreditation standards for training programs set by the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA). FIBAA is an international education accreditation organization under the Swiss government, authorized to operate in Vietnam since 2021. The organization has two representative offices located in Bonn, Germany, and Zurich, Switzerland. As a European organization with an international orientation in quality assurance and development, FIBAA conducts accreditation procedures for higher education institutions based on international quality standards.
MARCH 26 - UEF held the opening ceremony for the external evaluation program for the quality accreditation of the English Language and Finance-Banking undergraduate programs according to FIBAA standards. This marks a significant milestone in the university’s development journey, demonstrating UEF’s strong commitment to provide an internationally accredited learning environment that empowers students to integrate globally with confidence.

Attending the opening ceremony were Ms. Eva Seidel – FIBAA Project Manager, along with FIBAA’s industry practitioner panel members: Prof. Dr. Georg Köpf, Industry Practitioner in Finance and Banking; Prof. Dr. Eva Wilden, Industry Practitioner in English Language Teaching Methods; Prof. Diah Ariani Arimbi, Industry Practitioner in Linguistics; Dr. MMag. Sandra Allmayer, Industry Practitioner in Business Administration; and Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Ha – Chair of Finance and Banking at Pacific Ocean University.
On behalf of UEF, the event had the honor to welcome Prof. Dr. Bui Xuan Lam, Vice Chairman of Board of Directors; Mr. Do Quoc Anh, Vice Chairman of Board of Directors; Dr. Nguyen Thanh Giang, President; Dr. Ly Thien Trang, Director of Quality Assurance and Accreditation, along with other faculty members of the university's board of presidents and other leaderships.

Upon delivering the inauguration ceremony’s speech, Prof. Dr. Bui Xuan Lam emphasized the significant meaning of quality accreditation according to international standards, FIBAA – in elevating education quality and affirming UEF’s position on the global academic map.

On behalf of FIBAA, Ms. Eva Seidel also pointed out positive assessments of UEF’s preparation and highlighted the crucial role of quality accreditation in ensuring that training programs meet global criteria, equipping UEFers with a solid academic foundation and competitive capabilities in the international environment.

During the ceremony, Dr. Pham Huy Cuong, Dean of the Faculty of English, and Dr. Ha Thi Thuy, Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, provided an overview of the two programs under accreditation. They emphasized the outstanding features of the curricula, particularly their internationalization, applicability, interdisciplinarity, and regular updates, as well as their integration of global issues and focus on lifelong learning skills for UEFers.

The accreditation of these two programs under FIBAA standards not only marks a crucial milestone in UEF’s educational development strategy but also opens new opportunities for the university to further enhance its training quality. By meeting rigorous academic standards, UEF aims to offer students an advanced and globally integrated learning environment. With meticulous preparation and a high level of cooperation, UEF hopes to achieve the best accreditation results, reaffirming its position as an internationally recognized university in Vietnam.
